Relationships can be complicated and confusing because there are so many people walking around who aren’t living in their truth.

People say one thing and do another. They say they care, but their actions communicate something completely different. They want closeness until closeness requires accountability. And sometimes, instead of simply being honest about what they want, they create distance and convince themselves that walking away is somehow a lesson for someone else.

But what happens when the person you walk away from doesn’t chase you?

What happens when they don’t beg you to stay?

What happens when they actually find peace on the other side of the door you closed?

Sometimes a closed door is exactly what we needed.

I’ve learned that not every closed door is a loss.

Sometimes it’s clarity.

Sometimes it’s protection.

Sometimes it’s the space you needed to finally hear yourself think.

And sometimes, a closed door gives you the opportunity to stop chasing people who were never meeting you halfway.

For a long time, many of us are conditioned to believe that when someone pulls away, we should figure out how to get them back. We questions ourselves. We replay conversations. We wonder what we could have done differently. We try to repair connections that the other person willingly walked away from.

But there comes a point when you have to ask yourself:

Why am I chasing a door that someone else chose to close?

If someone chooses distance, let them have it.

You don’t have to force your way back into a space where you were no longer welcomed.

You control your door. I control mine.

I love the visual of two connecting hotel rooms because it reminds me of how relationships actually work.

There are two doors.

There may be one opening between the rooms, but there are still people with individual choices.

You can open your door.

You can close your door.

You can lock your door.

That’s your decision.

But here’s what we sometimes forget:

I have a door too.

You don’t get to close yours and assume mine will remain open indefinitely.

You don’t get to decide that you can walk away today and return whenever you’re ready tomorrow.

You don’t get to assume that because I loved you enough to let you in before, I’ll always leave the door unlocked.

I may not.

In fact, I might discover that I really like it locked.

Don’t mistake love for unlimited access.

I’m a firm believer that loving people doesn’t mean giving them unlimited access to you.

You can love someone and still have boundaries.

You can forgive someone and still move differently.

You can wish someone well and still understand that they don’t belong in your next chapter.

And you can recognize that a relationship once meant something to you without pretending that it still does.

Access should come with trust.

Trust should come with consistency.

And relationships should have reciprocity.

I don’t believe in relationships where one person constantly gives, understands, accommodates, reaches out, forgives, and makes room while the other person simply gets comfortable receiving.

At some point, you have to stop asking, “How do I keep this relationship?”

And start asking:

“Does this relationship actually belong in my life?”

Those are two completely different questions.

💕 Ready to go deeper?

If you’ve ever found yourself giving too much, losing yourself in relationships, or questioning your worth because of the way someone treated you, my book was written with you in mind.

When Self-Love Becomes an Addiction

A raw and honest exploration of what happens when loving others becomes easier than loving yourself.

Inside, you’ll be encouraged to examine the patterns that keep you overgiving, overextending, chasing connection, and placing other people’s needs above your own.

Because self-love isn’t just about knowing your worth.
It’s about protecting it.

📖 Read the Book

Your next chapter starts with choosing yourself.

Sometimes people teach you the lesson they never intended to teach.

There are times when someone walks away believing their absence will make you realize how much you need them.

But sometimes their absence teaches you something entirely different.

It teaches you that you can live without them.

It teaches you that you can create peace without the relationship.

It teaches you that you don’t have to chase.

It teaches you that your life continues.

And perhaps most importantly, it teaches you that your worth was never dependent on whether someone chose to stay.

So if someone thinks they’re teaching you a lesson by closing a door, be careful what you assume.

Because you might actually learn to appreciate the view on your side of it.

I don’t chase closed doors anymore.

There is something incredibly freeing about accepting people for who they are instead of holding onto who you hoped they would become.

Pay attention to patterns.

Pay attention to effort.

Pay attention to how people treat you when things aren’t easy.

Pay attention to whether the relationship feels mutual or whether you’re constantly carrying it.

And most importantly, pay attention to how you feel after interacting with someone.

Peace matters.

Your energy matters.

Your emotional well-being matters.

Your time matters.

You don’t have to keep reopening doors simply because someone eventually knocks again.

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself is leave the door exactly where it is.

Closed.

Locked.

And peaceful.

The door isn’t locked because I’m bitter.

This is an important distinction.

Boundaries aren’t revenge.

Distance isn’t always punishment.

Silence isn’t always anger.

Sometimes you’ve simply reached a point where you no longer need the relationship to be different because you’ve accepted what it actually is.

That’s growth.

You don’t have to convince anyone that they hurt you.

You don’t have to make them regret leaving.

You don’t have to prove that you’re doing better without them.

You simply keep living.

Keep growing.

Keep becoming.

And if they eventually look back and realize they no longer have the access they once had, that’s okay.

They made their choice.

And you made yours.

Protect the peace you found.

I don’t want relationships that require me to abandon myself to maintain them.

I want honesty.

I want reciprocity.

I want consistency.

I want relationships where people can communicate instead of creating confusion.

I want people who don’t make me question whether I matter to them.

And if that means having fewer people around me, I’m okay with that.

Because I would rather have a small circle of genuine connection than a crowded room full of people who don’t know how to value access to me.

So if you close your door, close it.

If you walk away, walk away.

If you decide that distance is what you need, take your distance.

But don’t assume that I’ll spend my life standing on the other side waiting for you to return.

I may keep walking.

I may find peace.

I may grow.

I may become someone who no longer needs the relationship you once thought I couldn’t live without.

And if you ever come back and find the door locked, don’t take it personally.

You closed yours first.

I simply learned that I have the right to control mine.

And sometimes, the door you thought would hurt me becomes the very door that taught me how to protect myself.

Two doors. One connection. Two choices.

You control yours.

I control mine.

And when I decide my door is closed?

Respect the boundary.

Keep moving.

I’m at peace on my side. 💕

The Quiet Season

There is a part of healing that people rarely talk about.

It’s not the breakthrough.
It’s not the moment of clarity.
It’s not the dramatic transformation.

It’s the quiet season that comes after the chaos fades.

The season where life becomes still and you begin to realize that the things that once excited you no longer do.

The distractions fall away.
The emotional noise quiets down.
The constant stimulation disappears.

And what’s left is silence.

Most days the peace feels beautiful.
You wake up without anxiety.
Your mind isn’t racing.
Your heart isn’t chasing.

But then there are days when that same peace feels like punishment.

It’s hard to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it.

You sit in the stillness. You rest. You sleep. You exist in the present, but sometimes it feels like your consciousness is somewhere else entirely — reflecting, remembering, recalibrating.

The noise is gone.

And in the absence of noise, you start noticing things you never noticed before.

Memories come back.

A song plays and suddenly you are transported to a moment in your life where you felt completely alive. You remember the laughter, the excitement, the emotional intensity of those times.

And for a moment, nostalgia wraps around you like a wave.

You miss that version of yourself.

The version of you that felt electric.
The version of you that felt passion deeply.
The version of you that felt alive in a way that made life feel colorful and full.

But healing changes you.

The things that once gave you dopamine, excitement, and emotional intensity don’t hit the same anymore. You’ve outgrown them. Your spirit has matured beyond them.

And that transition can feel confusing.

Because peace was supposed to feel better than chaos.

But sometimes peace feels unfamiliar.

Sometimes it feels like discipline.

The Season of Isolation

Sometimes it feels like God removed all the noise and left you alone in the quiet.

And in those moments you might ask:

Where is God?

But the truth is… He’s still there.

In fact, the quiet season is often where God does His deepest work.

When the noise disappears, the distractions fade, and the emotional highs settle, something new begins forming beneath the surface.

Your identity starts rebuilding without the need for validation.

Your nervous system begins learning how to rest.

Your heart learns how to exist without constantly pouring itself into others just to feel valuable.

This season can feel lonely, but it is also sacred.

Because the quiet season isn’t abandonment.

It’s recalibration.

It’s the space where God teaches you how to live without needing constant confirmation, constant stimulation, or constant emotional intensity to feel alive.

And eventually, something beautiful happens.

The silence stops feeling heavy.

Peace stops feeling like punishment.

And you begin discovering a new kind of aliveness — one that isn’t built on chaos, intensity, or emotional highs.

It’s built on presence.

It’s built on purpose.

It’s built on a deeper connection with God and with yourself.

If you’re in the quiet season right now, know this:

Nothing is wrong with you.

You are not lost.

You are being rebuilt in the silence.

Reflection

Have you ever experienced a season where life became quiet after a period of chaos or emotional intensity?

Sometimes the quiet seasons of life are not punishment — they are preparation.

They are the moments where healing deepens, identity shifts, and God begins rebuilding parts of us that noise once distracted us from seeing.

Continue the Journey

If you’re in the quiet season right now, know this:

Nothing is wrong with you.

You are not lost.

You are being rebuilt in the silence.

And sometimes the quiet seasons that feel the most uncomfortable are the very seasons where the deepest transformation is taking place.

If this reflection resonated with you, I invite you to continue the journey with me.

In today’s world, there are so many distractions and it is becoming more and more clear that the only solution is to set boundaries and simply SAY NO! That’s right, say NO! Whether in our personal relationships, professional relationships, or even online interactions, the pressure to always say “yes” can lead to the feeling of being overwhelmed, pressured, lost of identity, and so much more.

Understanding Boundaries

Boundaries are the physical, emotional, and mental limits we set to protect ourselves from being manipulated, used or harms. Boundaries are all around us indirectly. A traffic signal is a form of a boundary. Passwords are used to protect us which ultimately are forms of boundaries. Boundaries not only protect us, but also protect others on the receiving or opposite end by teaching them how to respond and treat us. Establishing boundaries sets the framework to how you want to be treated.

There is Nothing Selfish About Setting Boundaries

Setting boundaries is not about being selfish. Instead, it is about knowing yourself, knowing your worth, and knowing how you deserve to be treated.

Setting Boundaries Improve:

Mental Health

Physical Health

Relationships

Productivity

Mental Health

Constantly prioritizing others can lead to stress, anxiety, and even depression. Every time you say yes when you want to say no, you disrespect yourself and get farther away from the relationship with yourself. When you set boundaries, you create space for your mental well-being. This allows you to recharge, reflect, and provides the understanding and clarity that you need to make good decisions.

Physical Health

Anything that’s kept inside of you that conflicts what you truly want and believe manifests as physical sicknesses. When you are stressed and full of anxiety, it can manifest in the form of headaches, stomach pains, and leave your body vulnerable and more susceptible to sicknesses and diseases. Stress can cause phantom illnesses that mimic heart attack, panic attacks, and other illnesses.

Relationships

Healthy boundaries enhance healthy relationships by fostering respect and understanding. When you clearly communicate your wants and needs, it allows others to understand how you want to be treated. It is not only fair to yourself, but also unfair to others to say yes when you really want to say no because it doesn’t leave room for others to understand what’s expected of them. Allowing others to walk over you might work in the beginning, but eventually you’ll get tired and start to show feelings of resentment or avoid the relationship altogether which is unhealthy.

Productivity/Time Management

Setting Boundaries can definitely improve productivity and time management. When you don’t have boundaries and say yes to everything, it can feel overwhelming and limit important things from getting done. It can make you feel that you have more to do than you actually do. While there should be a clear distinction between business and personal duties, when you don’t set boundaries the lines become blurred and it can leave you feeling like their is no time to do anything. By setting boundaries, you can focus on what truly matters and produce better results in your personal and professional life.

So…How do you Set Boundaries?

To set boundaries, you must first recognize a need to do things differently. Most times, people don’t realize that there is a need for change until they’ve reached their breaking point. The first to setting boundaries is to identify the areas in your life where you feel overwhelmed or taken advantage of. Self awareness allows you to see the full picture of the role that you play as well as the role that others play in your life.

Sometimes the only way to understand this is to take a step back from those that might be causing you to feel this way. Removing yourself from always being there for others allows you to see who’s really there for you. It allows you to find out if the relationship is one-sided or includes reciprocity.

Once you’ve identified the what and who, you can begin to understand the areas where boundaries are needed by:

Communicating Clearly – Be assertive by using “I” statements to express your needs. Be respectful, yet direct and honest. Don’t over communicate or explain. Simply let your yes be yes and your no be no. Choose a time to discuss your boundaries and remain calm during the conversation.

Practice Saying No – Saying No can feel uncomfortable if you’re not used to saying it. It is essential to remember that you have a right to say no with no explanations. Your time and energy is valuable. By practicing saying no, this will build your confidence.

Be Consistent – When setting boundaries, it is important to stay consistent. Consistency helps you stay true to your wants and needs. It also helps others to understand that you are serious about your needs.

Seek Support – Surround yourself with other strong individuals who understand boundaries and encourage you to prioritize yourself. Don’t be afraid to lose people on the way. If someone doesn’t respect your boundaries, see this for what it is and know that this person doesn’t have respect for you. Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance or support from a trusted friend or even a therapist if needed.

Setting boundaries is an essential practice for cultivating a balanced and fulfilling life! By understanding your needs and clearly communicating them with honesty, respect, and empathy, you not only protect your well-being, but you also foster healthier and more respectful relationships. By prioritizing yourself, you are not being selfish, instead you are teaching others how you would like to be treated. There isn’t a right or wrong way to set boundaries. There also isn’t a one size fits all method.

Be patient with yourself. Some situations will be easier than others. You will feel proud of yourself for how you set boundaries and other situations may be more difficult to handle, but just remember this is a journey and a learning process. With time, consistency, self love, and practice, you can create a life that not only you are proud of, but others are proud of as well. Embrace the power of boundaries and watch your life and relationships begin to flourish!

Welcome to 2025!!! This is the time to thank God for everything He has brought you through this far.

Surrendering to God and allowing Him to take control has been the best decision of my entire life and I hope that you’ll do the same.

All you have to do is be willing to give God a whole Yes. Even with fear, anxiety, anger, sadness, God will guide you through. Just surrender. He won’t fail you❤️

God is BIG, MIGHTY, and STRONG! He is not limited by time, space, past hurts, credentials, worldly idols, money, etc. In other words, there are NO limits to who God is and what He can do for us because He is the source. All of our help comes from Him.

Matthew 7:7

To emphasize, God reminds of this by telling us to ask and we shall receive in Matthew 7:7. https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.7.NIV

The scripture goes on to say seek and you shall find, Knock and the door shall be opened to you. I don’t know about y’all, but that’s a great place to praise and Thank God!

For Clarity…

One thing that I want to point out in this verse is the fact that it doesn’t tell us what to ask for or place emphasis on one way or the other. God gives us the free will to choose positive requests or negative requests. It doesn’t tell us which door to knock on. However, one thing it does promise is no matter what, we shall receive, find, and the door shall be opened.

If we take the scripture and relate it to positive mindsets versus negative mindsets, we will further develop an understanding of how positive and negative thoughts work.

For example, if our mindsets are based around negative thinking, we will reap the effects. Consequently, instead of receiving good things from God, finding good things, and doors being opened to good things, we will be tricked by the enemy. Negative thinking causes us to receive, find, and doors to be opened to circumstances and situations that are not of God.

Practice

To further explain, let’s practice inserting the word “negative” into the scripture:

Ask (negative things) and you shall receive (negative things).

Seek (negative things) and you shall find (negative things).

Knock on the door of (negative things) and the door shall be opened to (negative things).

Do you see how one word has the power to change the entire context of the scripture?

God wants us to have good things! Through our faith, we have the power to receive just that!

Problem Solved!

So now that we know the differences between positive and negative thinking, we can make an informative decision on which path to take.

Furthermore, by replacing negative influences with positive influences, you can simply turn the negative into a positive! Keeping the benefits of positive thinking in mind will lead you to the life you want and deserve.

Take the example above and this time add Positive to the scripture.

Ask (positive things) and you shall receive (positive things).

Seek (positive things) and you shall receive (positive things).

Knock on the door of (positive things) and the door shall be opened to (positive things).

Positivity is a lifestyle that has to be chosen. The truth is, “life” will happen. There will be days that you want to throw in the towel and choose a different path.

Choosing to be positive isn’t easy, but it is worth it. The Benefits outweigh any circumstance that may occur. You see, bad things don’t last forever. You have to have the mindset that if God has brought you to something, He will bring you through it. Sometimes things happen to motivate us and move us out of our comfort zones. However, you will LIVE! You will survive! One day every bad thing that you had to go through will make sense. You will look back with tears of joy and gratitude because you will have proof that God was there the whole time.

Romans 8:28

Lastly, lead your life with this scripture (Romans 8:28)- ALL things work together for good to those who love God. This will allow you to accept what comes with a positive mindset to know that it WILL work for your good! https://www.bible.com/bible/111/ROM.8.NIV

Hey Y’all! Today I wanted to talk to you about a 5 Letter Word – That’s it, that’s All.

The word is PEACE! Now if you are anything like me, I’m sure you value being able to freely go about your day with no questions asked, to have the ability to make your own decisions and feel good about those decisions. In a world full of chaos, the best way to achieve a happy and satisfying life is to create Peace and follow it!

Definition

So…. What is Peace? Peace can have many different definitions according to your personality, your likes/dislikes, and what you desire in life.

I define Peace as a deep connection with oneself that enables and exudes freedom, clarity, and a sense of serenity no matter what’s going on in the outside world.

Importance

Peace is something that can only come from within. In other words, there is no amount of money, no car, or no career that can create Peace. Outside things can contribute to your peace, but can not create Peace.

Peace is extremely important to have because it eliminates distractions. It allows you to connect with yourself on a deeper level so that you know who you are and what you want out of life.

One of our most precious and invaluable resources is TIME. No matter what you choose to focus on in life, time will always come in go. Rather you use your Time dwelling on all of your setbacks or you use your time learning and growing, we are all awarded the same amount of time.

When you don’t know yourself and don’t have a connection with yourself, it is easy to get off track and follow the trends of the world or follow things that you think people might want you to follow. The more you don’t take the time to get to know yourself, the more disconnected you can become from yourself and before you know it, you’ll end up not recognizing yourself. You’ll end up so conflicted within because you have adapted and adopted the values, morals, likes, and dislikes of others instead of learning who you are which is the opposite of Peace.

When you are at peace, you have a tendency to relax and let things flow according to how they should. You understand what the goal is and keep it in mind, but you release the need to control every detail of it. Peace promotes the ultimate level of trust and eliminates stress.

Having peace is extremely important because it allows us to live in the moment. It allows us to breathe and know that everything will be ok no matter how it turns out because you know who you are, what you want, and you don’t let anything or anyone give you less than that!

Here are some of the feelings you may experience when you don’t have peace…

Removed

Frustrated

Disengaged

Confused

Angry

Stressed

Lost

Desperate

Fear

Conflicted

What Peace Feels Like

Peace feels soooo good! I’m talking about that feeling after you’ve just had a long flight and finally change and go to the Beach good! I’m talking about the feeling you have when you take a shower after a long day of work. Or the feeling you have after getting a promotion at work. Peace is like a waiting to exhale moment, but all of the time. Here are some of the feelings that describe how peace feels

Serenity

Ease

Calm

Harmonious

Stability

Free

Comfort

Relief

Relaxed

Security

So how do we get peace?

Step 1 – Being Honest about Where You are

The Globe signifies finding out where you are.

The first step in getting peace is being honest with yourself about where you are in life. Not only do you analyze where you are, but you also take accountability for the things that you have allowed to come in and steal your peace.

The truth is, there isn’t one person or thing on this Earth that can just “Take” our peace without our permission. We have more control than we think! The good news is we can make a choice today on rather we want to continue to make excuses and blame others for stealing our peace OR we can do something about it.

Once you are honest about where you are, you will be ready to move to the next step which is finding out where you want to be and bridging the gap.

Step 2 – Getting to Know You

Getting to know who you are enables you to make decisions and create goals that are in compliance with what you want out of life. If you don’t truly know what makes you happy, you’ll waste your time chasing things and people that only satisfy the outward version of yourself and not the inward version of you. You’ll waste time giving too much of your heart and mind to the wrong people and things and not enough on the things that are going to conducive to your peace.

Step 3 – Bridge The Gap

The third step is to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Think about what’s stopping you from getting to the next level.

Sometimes its as simple as eliminating distractions and the amount of time we spend doing things that don’t make us happy. Other times it’s people and trying to keep up with our outward image that we neglect to understand our inward feelings.

Bridging the gap enables us to reconnect with ourselves by rejecting everything that creates a negative impulse or response in our minds, bodies, hearts, and souls and realigning with who you are called to be.

Step 4 – Grace

God’s Grace is sufficient!

A wise woman once told me to follow my energy. Meaning, the very things that make you smile and happy and bring positive vibes to you are the things that you should follow because those are the things that will not only bring you energy but also circulate the energy back through you and to you.

The final step in getting and maintaining peace is Grace. Not only is it important to show others grace, but it is also important to show yourself grace. The issue with losing peace and disconnecting from ourselves is that most times it’s a subtle thing. It gradually happens. No one wakes up and says that they are going to reject everything that makes them happy and do everything that doesn’t bring them peace. It gradually happens overtime based upon our views of ourselves and our views as the world tells us to be.

We have to learn to view ourselves the way that God views us and not base our worth on the opinions of others or the norms of the world.

God died on the cross for our sins, but in 3 days He rose! The cross signifies God’s everlasting love and grace for us. He is alive and we must remember the sacrifice he made for us so that we can remember to show ourselves grace as well.

God is Big and powerful and He created us in His image. We all fall short and get off track, so having the understanding that God gives each of us grace will in turn allow us to show ourselves and others grace. As long as you are alive, through God you have the power to change anything for the better.

Getting and maintaining peace is right around the corner for you and I am happy about your future!

Here are some positive affirmations for Peace.

I am loved.

Love is an action word. When you feel loved, you act different. Your mindset is different and you carry yourself differently. To have something means not to lack or be without. Self love is the best love and no matter who shows up for you, you have to show up for yourself each and everyday and focus on the things that uplift your mood, heart, and mind. When you feel loved, you allow yourself d to live in the moment and not have to question things.

I am free.

What does it mean to be free? My definition of freedom is living life exactly how you want to live without restrictions while leading with your own morals and values in mind. There are so many things that have the ability to keep us in bndage such as past traumas.

I can do All things through Christ.

Philippians 4:13 – the Bible teaches us that we can do ALL things, not some things but ALL through Christ which is our strength. If you want peace, it is already yours because Jesus is your strength and He will never leave nor forsake you.

I forgive myself.

Forgiveness is huge! I believe that you can’t truly experience the life that God wants you to live until you learn to not only forgive others, but forgive yourself. Sometimes we make choose the wrong path knowing the consequences attached to the choices, yet we hope for different results. When you don’t forgive yourself, you rob yourself of your future. Go to God and ask for forgiveness with a sincere heart ready for change and watch yourself be surrounded by the peace that He wants us to have!

I love myself.

Someone once said, “Love yourself or nobody will.” That resonated with me and has so much meaning. When you don’t love yourself, you are privy to accepting any and everything someone else offers you. Instead of leading by your own morals, values, and morals, you allow others to place value on who you are and most times others will set your value at a much lower, discounted cost than it should be. Loving yourself is not selfish. Loving yourself is necessary to have the peace you need.
